A woman celebrates Rosh Hodesh at the base of the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The tallit (prayer shawl) and kippah represent the organization Women of the Wall which seeks to expand how women are allowed to pray and worship at the Western Wall, also known as the Kotel. Women have been restricted from praying out loud, reading from the Torah scrolls and from wrapping themselves in prayer shawls. Not all women support these changes. Businesswoman Leah Aharoni is the founder of Women for the Wall which favors keeping restrictions in place.
